“I’ve always had an affection for M&S, so I’m thrilled to be a part of this unique project. There was something very touching about looking back through British history of which M&S is synonymous”. (Alexa Chung)
Archive by Alexa
Last week, Alexa Chung launched her collection, Archive by Alexa, for Marks and Spencer. The line is a tribute to the British brand heritage.
Actually, the style icone has examined the M&S archive in order to create a collection composed of unique pieces. The Archive by Alexa collection is composed of 32 pieces
I went to the Marble Arch store, the day of the launch, to take a look at the Archive by Alexa collection.
I really liked it and there are some items that I recommend you to add to your spring – summer 2016 shopping list.
In particular, my favourite pieces are:
The Frances Trench
“A modern take on a style loved by M&S customers since the Fifties”
It is a really versatile piece, symbol of the British fashion. You should always have a trench in your wardrobe.
The Harry Blouse
“Inspired by an Eighties piece, these refreshed frills feel right for now”
This is my favourite piece! It comes in white and pink and there is also a dress in the same style.
The Victorian collar and frills are also a trend for Spring – Summer 2016 and it is a perfect fit for people who love a romantic style.
In fact, I bought the blouse (in pink) and I can’t wait to wear it!
The Elsie Dress
This was the dress that Alexa Chung has chosen to wear the day of the launch of her collection. It is a lovely mini dress, navy with white spots. It is inspired by the late 1960s style.
The Misty Dress
I loved this vintage style tea dress. It is inspired by the 1950s trend of bright patterns. I tried it and it fits nice.
The Edna Shirt
This piece is inspired by a men shirt from the 1940s Marks and Spencer archive. It is converted into a women striped shirt dress.
Alexa Chung has done a great job. These pieces are classic but modern at the same time. They are perfect for vintage lovers but also for people who want a piece of British fashion at a great price.
In fact, Archive by Alexa collection is also affordable. I really recommend you to take a look at it!
